Long before it became known as Beaver Lake, the waterbody appeared on some of the earliest maps of colonial New Hampshire as Beaver Pond. The famous Beaver Lake Pavilion attracted visitors arriving by trolley and featured dancing, restaurants, canoe rentals, boat rides, and family entertainment.
